Shadow of the Falcon

The falcon stands alone. Lost in the sight of its surroundings and the wind ruffling its feathers. It lives a life of trial and beauty, forever searching for the next journey it is to take. Some call it a shadow because it is often just that, a flash of movement so quick you would not have believed you'd seen anything at all had it not been for the path of destruction or healing it leaves behind.
Once in a while this 'Shadowfalcon' meets another shadow similar to itself, whether it be a rose or another creature. And then, for one brief instant, it opens its heart and lets the other shadow in. Then its shadow is revealed to the light. Sometimes the two shadow beasts, creatures, plants, or one of each bond and offer their lives to each other, whether in friendship or love. It does not matter much. The shadow, for that moment, is ultimately happy.
Then time slips away and they're left alone. Perhaps they will meet again; perhaps it was destined to end in heartache. Whatever happens the heart of the Shadowfalcon stays true, that is the one treasure it forever holds onto. The ability to love purely and fully even after time has passed. Perhaps the Shadowfalcon is prideful but why shouldn't it be when it has so many friends to hold dear?
