The Sun's Demise

***

I'll admit sometimes I miss you.
What's it like on the other side?
I'll admit I miss your old self.
What's it like drenched in the light?

I'm sorry I tried to corrupt you.
Can't you understand? I was lonely.
I welcomed you into my dark world.
Can't you forgive me? I was lonely.

You seemed lost like me; I tried to help.
You took the invitation with such grace.
At times you burned as black as I.
I thought you'd stay in this death place.

I'm sorry I tried to corrupt you.
Can't you understand? I was lonely.
I welcomed you into my dark world.
Can't you forgive me? I was lonely.

Did you really have to leave?
I hoped you could be one of us.
They always find ways to be saved.
I feel more alone with each one.

I'm sorry I tried to corrupt you.
Can't you understand? I was lonely.
I welcomed you into my dark world.
Can't you forgive me? I was lonely.
