Facing the Shadow

Undying Nightfall part 2

Beware all who enter here
This is a place of
Darkness and death
Where the Dark One waits

These words, carved deep in stone,
At the entrance to a dark and forbidding land

He watches a solitary figure walking
Her friends have abandoned her
Believing the quest to be hopeless
Realizing they need more
Another lost piece to find
Not twelve, but thirteen
Information conveniently forgotten,
Misplaced,
Then vanished without a trace

Across the Calder
Dried river full of stones
Into Death Valley
Trees depicting death
Passing by the ruinous mound
Of a city long forgotten

Straight ahead now,
Blackness clouding the land
Temple of Shadows,
Tower of Eternal Night
Its noon but
It looks like midnight
Closer and closer now
Evil looming nearer
Standing outside the entrance
Aware of what waits inside
Yet nervous all the same
Sword is unsheathed
The only sound heard for miles
Silver blade,
And a single word engraved
In a golden hilt:
Drettuc,
Wind Cutter
Weapon for the Wind Walker

Ready to fight, sword in hand,
Slowly she enters the suffocating darkness
Now she stands alone facing
A creature only she can defeat
