I've seen it all from this tower
The blaze from miles away
As a dragon roars and bickers
Fighting with its kin
Ceaseless arguing over hoards of gold
Flames burning emerald with greed
It always ends sour
Families torn apart over pointless disputes
And tears of the phoenix fall
With the last dragon's life
Cleansing the scorched earth
But nothing could heal,
No, nothing could heal
The broken bonds of love
The thief in the night
Who went to steal some fortune
Happened upon the barkeep's daughter
Caught in the craving for desire
Let his guard slip
And was pilfered himself
His own heart
Taken by the lowly lass
Day and night
How he longed for her
Finally went back
To confess his true love
And found her with another
He finally saw through her guise
Thief of hearts
A full sack bleeding down her back
Two squires in a challenge
Best friends they once were
Equally matched but
Tiring quickly
Both longed for knighthood
But only one could go on
After hours of battle
Finally one fell
Tears gushed down his cheeks
As he watched his best friend
Prepare the final blow
Feeling his last breath
The squire uttered
"I would have forfeited for you my friend"
And collapsed in a heap
The crowd threw flowers in congratulations
Cheering and shouting for more
The winner was dubbed a knight
His noble crest a black rose in tears
I've been waiting
For longer than 'The End'
Waiting in the tallest tower
Locked behind bars
My knight in shining armor
He never came, oh no
The happily ever after I know
Is living life alone
Watching the lives of others
