Static
I looked into myself today
Ripped open my decaying skin
And felt the heart that withers within me

I drank my stale blood
Just to taste again
Locked away for so many years
Stolen from a happiness

The static hourglass has forgotten
Faded from every memory
I wait to walk the stars

My eyes have seen so many things
I care not to remember
So many lives fallen
Without a chance of feeing hope

We have forgotten what it is to be alive
Taken this world without a kiss
Nor a second glance.

I feel almost sorry
But I know my hands are all too stained
The smell of rotting blood
Tattooed as a reminder

I only hold one lesson
Only one emotion flows
through these tired veins

Remember

Take this world with every breath
Hold it within yourself
Lick the sugary sunsets
And drink the every hour of twilight
.
