The Little Girl

Over there is a little girl
With big eyes that stare into the soul
Painting pictures that cascade and swirl
All over the pages - but then go cold.

A soaring falcon in the sky
Swooping and gliding every day
Easily passing everything by
And chasing all the clouds away.

A demonic warrior slashes and hacks
At all that dare to face her rage.
When she leaves, they know that she'll be back
When the little girl draws on the next page.

But then the girl is sucked inside,
Thrown in a cage and locked away.
Another one has something to hide
And she's left to wither and decay.

Later a girl walks home from school,
Brunette with deep brown eyes.
She knows what she did was cold and cruel,
With the little girl locked up deep inside.

At school, the older girl's alone.
Waiting for the class to end.
But with her friends, the ice is gone,
And the little girl comes out again.
