I never saw the point of being recognized for doing something. Having a bunch of people telling you how great you are and how proud you’ve made them. It’s kind of uncomfortable, not to mention feeds the ego to the point of becoming a jerk. Being around a group of people and sharing a general sense of laughter is much better, you are among them, united for that brief moment in time.

That’s all that life is, a series of brief moments. While some people see themselves receiving a great award in front of a large crowd applauding for them as the pinnacle of their life, I see a small group of people in front of the water cooler talking, just sharing stories with one another as one of the greatest enjoyments of life.
