Life is so loud- the buzz rings in your ears,
Life is so sad, can you feel my tears?
Life is the wind whipping at my hair,
Life is the love and you always being there.
And yet silently, through it all
Leaves in a cycle gently fall.
Sometimes life is too crowded and we get so lost,
But this we don't know until we pay the cost.
Sometimes life is a wonder and we don't have a clue,
And down the drain goes everything we knew.
Silently, amidst it all,
Leaves in a cycle gently fall.
Everyday is a puzzle we're struggling to resolve,
A problem, a maze we're trying, desperately, to solve.
Then our minds drift to another task to fulfill,
We're sobbing over milk that has yet to spill.
But wordlessly, through it all,
Leaves in the cycle gently fall.
Feelings- what strange things they are,
Anything can trigger them- near or far.
We might be in a room, clutching the phone,
When grey clouds cover, the sun that once shone.
We need a reminder through it all,
And these are the leaves that gently fall.
The future can hold glee and delight,
If we can simply get over this plight.
Don't you think us, fighting over land,
Is showing our stupidity is far too grand?
Next time, through it all,
Remember my leaves cease to fall.
Murderers in my country live a life of jail,
Soldiers get medals if they tell the tale.
For only they know what harm has been done,
War isn't adventure or as they though, "fun."
Through death and birth and it all,
Like too many other things,
My leaves will fall.
