And I wish that it was just black and white
Because all these shades of grey are killing me.
I aspire for the sun, overwhelming and bright,
Just like a bird I wanna spread my wings, be free.

I remember a time when life was so painless-
The lines weren’t blurred and unclear.
There weren’t complicated feelings to express,
Unfortunately, those times are no longer here.

And I’ll drown in my memories,
Get lost in the forest, as I try to forget.
I know I’ll just be added to the list of causalities,
Yet I don’t care, won’t be something to regret.

I long for the simplicity I knew
In those days that I used to live for,
When I knew what was false, what was true,
But I know those days were before..

Before my life was turned upon its head,
Before all I wanted was for all this to end,
Before I wondered would it be simpler to be dead,
Before I knew this wasn’t something I could mend.
