Little Bird

Beautiful, shining eyes

They captivate me

Needing to build a gilded cage

So I can hold you forever

Yet knowing you'll out grow the bars

And knowing to love something is to let it free

To let it experience life on it's own

To love unconditionally

To love it even when there's miles in between

Even when it seems they may have forgotten the love you've shown

It makes it even sweeter when it returns.
