Feeling My Way

I walk on to the beat

guitar strings come around

and choke the tears out of my eyes

piercing my cold heart

as I watch icy waters flow

still I walk my darkened path

wonder when someone will bring me light

feel my way along the walls

trying to get out on my own

stumble and I fall

feel the once blue blood run

and I imagine it turn red

on the wet pavement I lay on

pick myself back up on to the wall

lick my lips and taste the iron

continue to walk and try to find the beat once again

don’t know where this path takes me

only hope that I make the right decision

to continue blindly down it

hoping to find a guide to help me

to my desired destination
