And here's to death
Being no barrier to inspiration...

So many heroes
And tonight we think
Of all our inspirations
Who have died:
Ian Curtis, Vincent van Gogh
Kurt Cobain, Lord Byron,
Endless names, a roll-call
Of the best:
My Uncle Graham
Stands next to
Mark Rothko
And Tony Hancock
In a great, final count of the best
And the best who still must come:

One day, I hope to be an inspiration
And, one day, I shall die.
