The mystical creature and the mortal: their love (chapter 2)

Voices could be heard coming towards the hill that Chepi and Aranck were standing on. Chepi gasped and lay down on the ground. Aranck gave this confused look but did the same thing. Chepi, carefully, crawled down the hill and hid behind a large rock. The fairy prince followed her and sat in front of her, looking into her eyes, smiling.

“What are we hiding from?” Chepi put her pointer finger to Aranck’s lips. The fairy prince kissed her finger.

“Shh....I hear the guards.” Chepi bit her bottom lip, she could hear the guards moving down the hill and talking to eachother.

“I swear I saw something fly down here,” the first guards said. “It was a hawk or something,” the second one said. “Let us get out of here,” the third one said, and all three walked off. Once their voices were distant, Chepi stood up.

“You should leave, it isn’t safe here.” But the fairy prince stood up and took her hand.

“How would you like to go flying with me some time, Chepi? It would be wonderful to have a companion with me.” Aranck leaned forward and kissed the mortal princess’s forehead. “Tonight, after the sun sets and the moon rises. Open your bedroom window…I’ll meet you there.” But before Chepi could tell him no, he flew off.

Chepi pulled herself onto the large rock and smiled gleefully at the fairy prince as he flew off. She would go flying with a fairy. She then realized something. What will I wear?! She hopped off the rock and hurried up the hill towards the palace. This will be the best birthday I have ever had, Chepi told herself as she hurried into the palace and up to her bedchamber to change.
