Endless Rest

Lay me down and let me rest
Upon this Earth’s frozen breast
Let me linger ever no more
But float down to the breezy shore

Sleep shall come and death shall embrace me
I’ll open my arms wide and swim out to sea
Endless oblivion with more to come
The weight on my shoulders no longer a ton

Peaceful silence among wandering souls
My path laid out over hills that roll
Forward I step, my way paved clearly
Do I wander away or follow You ever dearly?

Forgiveness I seek while low on my knees
Doubt that You listen or even hear my pleas
Light of Your love do I finally find
As knowledge of Your love touches my mind

You take back the lost, placing them back on your path
Everlasting love curbing Your magnanimous wrath
Strong arms that will carry one through
Are the arms that embrace me when You say ‘I love you’
