The eyes are all around me
Above, below, and beyond
They are cast about the black abyss
Staring down upon all chaos
These silvery eyes cannot hear my horrid screams
They cannot feel the touch of Death
Omnipresent and incognito
Showering down drops of light
The object of every man's obsession
They will remain for all eternity
Billions of eyes, open and glaring
We live our lives, hoping and sharing
The eyes have always existed
Observing death and condemning life
The sky has turned black
And reveal the sacred realm of night
Shadows wisp and glide about
The eyes unveil their frightening gleam
They are looking at me
All of them
The emissaries of the day have invaded my senses
All of them
They want to show me the way
But my place is not here nor there
I belong in the pit of blistering darkness
Alone.
Alone.
With no one to share my twinkling dome.
