breath

hectic life and stressful times
dashing madly through the grime . . .
[of mediocrity]

did not know that i would care
take a perfect breath of air;
[her personality]

friends we'd been, i thought that cast
normal days and nights had passed . . .
[i thought it normal, too]

we sat there, shiv'ring, side by side
slowly closer came our sides
[blindly did she woo]

normal laugh, i love the sound
chilly night but warmth i found
[cuddling in her arms]

perfect fit, and perfect heat,
cuddling there on the seat
[perfect were her charms]

all else there were cold; alone,
perfect silence set the tone
[for our silent time]

time to part had come and gone;
almost home; we start to yawn
[time had been sublime]

days have passed, and still no word
one-night err? or tell the world?
[of our budding love]

uneasy now, i wait, unsure
still i do not know the cure
[for this sudden love]
