You lay down the textbook & take
A drag on your cigarette, thinking
'That's some fucked up shit'-
And you run your hands through your
Bleached hair -
Your black nail polish already chipping -
I sigh and lean in against
Your chest - Ribs bursting through -
'You're so skinny', I say,
Caressing your smooth skin -
You laugh and lean in to kiss me softly with
Your smoke-filled mouth. I
Try to resist at first, but
Your kisses taste like sweet wine & my
Throat is so dry -
I look you in the eyes and you
Look away - Like usual -
'How do you get so thin?' I say,
Holding in my breath, like
The next exhalation would be my last -
My stomach is so empty,
I can't stand how I yearn and try so hard, and
You just ARE & you
Smoke some more -
Chemicals filling up inside you - destroying ;
When it becomes clear you are avoiding me,
'Read me a story', I whisper as
I curl up inside you -
'I want to lose myself inside
Your words...'
