Parting

This poem is written in dedication to Mrs. Perkinson, my English and Creative Writing teacher.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, they say.
But what if the parting was infinate, everlasting, unchangeable
Like death?
Or what if the parting was into a tunnel or another place of pure darkness
And there was little hope to see them again?
Would the sweetness drown in the sadness,
Or was there a sweetness in the first place?
Is it bitter-sweet,
With a sweetness to painful to bear?
Whatever it may be, the sweetness is
That the rememberence lasts forever,
And the departed are never forgotton.
