A Terza Rima Written for my Creative Writing class

Tell Me Not

Please tell me not to fly far, far away

To drown my sorrows in the cloudy sky

I would not survive beyond the first day

It is in these bright meadows that I fly

I could not joyfully leave to elsewhere

Anywhere else, I would be frightened and shy

I could fly past a wolf's jaws if I dared

I could fly past the sun and come out unscathed

I could not live where one flies with great care

Outside this valley I would feel lost, dazed

I would soon be eaten up by some beast

I would be confused and lost in the haze

There's no other home that is safe for geese

Do not ask me to leave this land of peace
