A/N: Hey! Hope you like my new story. Enh, I dunno how happy I am about it, but whatever. Thought I’d post it just ‘cause I’m bored.

Um, right. This is just the prologue, so it’s short. I already have the 1st chapter done, so I should have it out as soon as I get at least one review. I personally think it’s dumb not to post because if I don’t have a certain amount of reviews. I mean, isn’t it enough just to post if one person reviews? So, um, yeah. That’s just my opinion. Not that I think any authors are dumb for doing that. It’s just dumb for ME to do it, if it makes any sense. To each her/his own.

Enjoy!

The Void (A Guide On How To Embarrass Yourself As Much As Possible)

Prologue: Never

Waverly Fira Ice. Otherwise known as Wave, by her closest friends. Which aren’t much. Not that she isn’t a likeable person. No, quite the contrary. She is a perfectly likeable person, with plenty of friends. Just not too many close ones. She has this trusting people issue.

And don’t get me wrong; this trusting people issue is entirely understandable. She had a rough childhood. Her father left her mother when he found out she was pregnant with Wave (she was 13 at the time). Wave thought her mother was her sister until she was 14, when she found her birth certificate hidden away in her Grandmother’s (who she thought was her mother) room. When Wave was 15, her father came back. She wasn’t that big on getting to know her father after her he left her mother like that, but made herself understand his situation, being as he was 13 years old at the time when he left. And so Wave began to love her father and confided in him in many instances when she could confide in no one else. Her father promptly disappeared a year later. Due to this, Wave began trusting people less. It seemed everyone she loved left her. Even her mother had the problem of loved ones leaving.

But the final blow didn’t come until one of Wave’s closest friends left her. In the middle of a crowded classroom, on her birthday, no less. It wasn’t the best parting of ways. He had been her best and closest friend. The only one she could confide in about her problems, such as her father and her sister really being her mother. And he left her. Left her humiliated and broken.

She didn’t confide in anyone else after that. She grew apart from her friends. They really couldn’t be bothered to shoulder her problems, along with their own problems that came with being a 17-year-old. They didn’t have the patience to deal with Wave not trusting them. And so it came to be that she only had two good friends left. Only two of her once numerous close friends bothered to stick with her until the end.

Now, I know you’re wondering why Wave’s best friend deserted her, especially with her father leaving her only a couple of weeks ago. The truth is…I honestly don’t know. Why would he do that to her? He had no reason to. He didn’t particularly hate her. He just…deserted her. Out of the blue, really.

You hate this horrible ex-friend of hers, do you not? Well, you have every reason to. Don’t hold yourself back in hating him, thinking that he will somehow redeem himself and he and Wave will fall in love and live happily ever after. It’s not going to happen. How could he possibly redeem himself?

So hate him all you want. I, myself, hate him as well. Maybe even more than Wave, if that is possible.

Let’s get off the current topic. The back-stabber ex-best friend subject is tiring me out.

Let’s go to the reason why I am writing in this notebook to begin with. You see, I heard writing about doing a magic spell and the reasons for it helps beginners with said magic spell. I am definitely a beginner. This is my first ever spell. I’m not really too sure I should do this spell, actually. It’s a bit too risky. I mean, what if she finds out it is me who performed this spell?

Ha. Who am I kidding? She’ll never know.

Never.

There are too many people it could possibly be who performed this spell.

One of only two of her original friends who actually stayed by her side, Roman Questus. He became her best friend after the back-stabbing one back-stabbed her.

The mysterious Gabriel Zandrelle, who, lately, has had a habit of hanging around Wave for no apparent reason.

Christian Lightelve, who is known to have a massive crush on her.

Night Wren, her best friends older brother, who takes great joy in teasing/flirting with her.

Zion Youth, her rather hyper neighbor, who cannot seem to get enough of her.

Maybe even Phoenix Rose, the back-stabber ex-best friend. We can never rule somebody out, now can we?

You see? She can’t possibly find out who performed this spell. There are too many suspects. And who is to say I am even one of those suspects? I could turn out to be, against everyone’s expectations, just some admirer from afar.

Don’t even think I’m telling you who I am. There is always the chance that someone could find this notebook. That would be disastrous. I cannot let her know who I am.

It is a matter of life and death.

And I mean that literally. As in, someone has threatened to kill Wave if she ever finds out who I am. They already aren’t too happy with my performing the spell, but were willing to let me, since they though it would annoy her to no end to know that someone cared so much about her and she didn’t know who it was.

And I suppose it would annoy her. But I think it would do her some good to know that someone cares about her so much. For I do care about her immensely.

I think…I may even be…

I may even be in love with her.

There, it’s out. It’s out once and for all. I am in love with Waverly Fira Ice. I cannot keep it inside any longer.

Due to the spell I am about to perform, she will know my feelings soon. She won’t know it’s me feeling these feelings, but still. At least she’ll know she’s worthy of love, even though she thinks she isn’t.

So, Wave, here’s to you. I am going to show you how I view you. I’m going to show you that you are so much more than you think.

A/N: So, how’d you like it? I know it isn’t the best, but I wasn’t even planning on posting it, so that’s to be expected. I’ll try to make the next chapters better.

Oh, and would anyone be willing to be my BETA-reader? Understand that the responsibilities of my BETA-reader would be more than to just edit it. It would also be to tell me if something should be changed in the content of the story and to help me out of Writer’s Block, along with anything else you see fit. The BETA-reader must be able to be harsh, without flaming me. Thanks!

Review, please!
