"Pop"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was at one time
A child in this town:
A little boy
With too-blue eyes
The color of the seas,
His head of dark locks,
And his mind of
Lovely dreams of
Toys and candy,
Feathers and wings;
Butterflies were fascinating,
Dusted-light and glitter glimmering.
Twinkle, twinkle, little stars,
As he wonders what they are;
Beauty and lights--
And nothing more;
Gaseous sciences exist naught
In his little world.
Breathless
Laughter running across his throat,
Bubbling giggles that--
If left forgotten--
Threaten to pop.
Pop!
With hop on pop
And green eggs and ham,
Living in his Wonderland
Of silver-gold-dream fantasies.
Everyone knows
That witches burn--
But he was no witch,
Only a child willing to learn
What he wanted;
Too much
To give such a simple wish.
Left alone,
All he could do
Was
Pop
