What could be better? The cool, crisp night air and ice beneath your feet, stars twinkling overhead like saphires. Thick gloves and a woolen hat kept frost bite from kissing delicate skin, and roses were at full bloom beneath porcilean cheeks.
The girl skated around the frozen lake. She looked up at the sky with a gleeful smile as snow flakes fell around her, dusting across her nose. She slowed to a stop and rubbed her hands together, readjusting her scarf around her neck.
"Hey, Nicole!" she turned around sharply, loosing her balance and falling on the ice. Taking a cold breathe, she pushed herself back up to her feet, ignoring the chilly ice. A boy stood on the far bank, grinning at her sheepishly. "Couldja help me with my skate?" She chuckled but nodded, and skated over slowly.
She attempted to stop, but toppled over again, and he lightly grabbed onto her arms, keeping her up. She smiled as he sat down, and she kneeled in front of him.
"Thanks Cole," she muttered, removing her gloves.
"No problem," she could just picture his smile as she started to tighten his skates. "Hasn't Vern taught you to stop yet?"
"No," she could feel her face heating up dispite the cold. "I'm sort of hopeless when it comes to skating... I just like to enjoy the atmostphere, ya know?"
"Yeah," she glanced up to see him nod at her, and tied the skate, moving to the next. "So... what brings you out here this frosty winter night?"
"Just wanted to enjoy the atmostphere," Nicole said shyly. She tied his other skate, and slowly stood up, careful not to loose her balance. "What are you doing out here?"
"Just thinking," he gave her another smile. "Common... lets skate." He stood up and shot off with a start. Nicole just watched him for awhile... his movements were confident, almost graceful, earned from long hours just skating and having fun doing what he loved... she shook her head as she skated after him slowly, her gaze returning to the stars above her.
What could be better? She had her skates, the cool, crisp night air, her friend...
"Nicole," she jumped slightly as someone grabbed her sides, but managed to stay up. Slowing to a stop, she turned around to see Cole silently laughing to himself.
"And what was that for?" she demanded. Cole grinned as he skated a little closer. "I could of fallen! You know how I hate falling."
"Sorry?" his sheepish grin returned as he stretched his arms out. "Will a hug make it all better?" Nicole rolled her eyes but nodded.
Cole closed the gab between them and hugged her gently, but gravity and inersha weren't on their sides. The force of the hug propelled Nicole back, and with nothing to hold her up she fell... and holding onto Cole, he fell with her.
"Eep!" Nicole blushed as she looked up at him. His blue eyes twinkled down at her demonishly...
He slowly leaned down to whisper someone in her ear, but she hesitantly kissed his cheek instead. He froze. She opened her mouth to appologise, surely she must of done something wrong! But before she could, he pulled back enough to kiss her lips lightly.
The kiss was only a soft brush, like butterfly wings against the skin, but it was enough to make the breathe hitch her her throat. Her eyes closed slowly as he moved down to kiss her again.
His tongue darted out to warm her blue lips, drawing the bottom one into his mouth. He bit and suckled it until it turned reddish purple, bruised with his torture. He continued, probbing into her mouth, only to pull away from her all together...
"Nicole?" her eyes snapped open, her cheeks beat red as she looked up at him. "Are you okay?" She nodded slowly, and he stood up, offering her a hand. She took it, and pulled herself up. "Well... enough of the lolligagin', lets skate!" And he was off.
Nicole stayed where she was. She pulled off her glove, and hesitantly put her hand to her lips. They were cold and dry, not bruised as they were before...
'It... it was only a daydream?' she looked up, finding Cole easily with her eyes. 'It was so real... but it was only a daydream.'
