She smiled softly as the waves washed around her feet. She was sitting
on a rock in a white night gown, looking at the stars at the edge of
the sea.

"Are you're sure this is what you want to do?" she asked, with a tone
of playfulness in her voice.

"I've always wanted to do it. I don't think anything will keep me from
there" I replied, standing on he wooden dock about five feet away.

She looked down, still smiling, and slightly shut her eyes. The wind
blew her brown hair to her right. She was playing with her feet.

"I don't think I can stay here anymore..." I confessed. She knew that
I would have said that some time or later.

"I know...I understand how you feel. That's why I came here" she
looked up at the stars in the sky, "I'm happy here...its too bad that
I can't be with you"

...I felt some anguish. She was such a beautiful person. I hope to god
I wasn’t hurting her...

"Go ahead and go. Like I said, I'm happy here. I'll take care of
everyone." She took her head up and moved her hair out of her face.
Looking at me she said, "Follow your rising sun."

With that, she got up, and walked around to the dock. We hugged and I
walked off. She stayed there until the morning came, and watched the
brilliant orange glow.
