Morning Flower

I've woken to the new born night
& walked its very edges
I saw events turn & twist
& glided through History's pages
I sang of lore long forgotten
& read books of old and new
I've watched empires rise and fall
All beneath the moon.
I've danced with devils of every era
Solved mysteries unsolved
I've heard the wind call my name
& sing for me her love
I've seen nature live & die
All within a single hour
I've seen all the wonders of the world...
Except for the morning flower.
