Sleek and smooth,
swift and sly,
the black liquid darts to and fro.
Capturing me
with one bright green eye,
a wild purr travels with her flow.

Two burning jewels,
two dancing lights,
night goggles aid the hunt.
Tail whipping ‘round
as she climbs to new heights;
Equipped for any stunt.

Standing tall,
leaping high,
ears on alert at all times;
Panther born,
jungle is nigh,
sky hung with climbing vines.

Acting wild
in civilized land,
thinking big and starting small;
The kitten climbs
to the topmost stand,
or wouldn’t climb at all.
