When we thought we ruled the world

Though all we had

Was a glimpse of the angels

And a home close to the sky

When mosquitoes kept us awake

And we stayed up all night

Chatting about small nothings

Till the sky began to streak with orange

When we tried to catch the Gods

Though all we had

Was each other

When we went far from home

And we stayed up all night

As we felt the cool mountain breeze

Looking up the the most brilliant sight we'll ever see

That night when it rained

But we stayed in the field

And our hearts still stayed strong

With a wish that was soon granted

For the clouds slowly broke
