The Woman in the Shadows

In the shadows
She does stir
Like black mist
In a black wolfs' fur

Her movements concealed
Her skin has lost its light
She breathes the darkness in
In the forests of the night

Slyly she does move
From one shadow to the next
If you choose to cross her path
Hence she'll be quite vexed

She is all but a shade
Of what she once used to be
Beautiful than any maid
For any prince to see

But she disappeared
One midsummer’s eve
Got drawn to the darkness
From the light she did leave

A woman in the shadows
Swift as darkness goes
But who she was?
Nobody knows.
