They told you that you could be anything

If you tried harder than they did

But are you anything?

So easy to lie to little kids

Are you anything more than a face in the crowd?

When you’re watching somebody else win

Don’t give up to another’s will

Twist them until they give in

But make sure no one sees you don’t fit the mold

Or it will mold itself around you

And you can claim to be the original

But no one will care if it is true

What’s the point in being different?

If you’ll all end up the same

It’s not catch or free tag

“Follow the leader” is the favorite game

And what will you do when you see someone else?

And you think you see yourself

And what will you do

When you see a doll of you on the shelf?

Will you mind being boring if they love you?

Probably not because

It’s too fun to have everything

And no one ever does.

You were once so real

Now you’re the original clone

Just another in the sea of drones

And since you’re unnoticeable you’re alone
