Utopia

ARC

-

you are so different

from me, at least;

clothed in black

all metal and eyeliner

stainless

strong

I feel so fragile

next to you

I hover

in fearful awe,

subdued ecstasy

-

obsidian teardrops

encircle your neck

unique

your eyes smile strangely

glowing with quiet laughter

and I melt inside

-

I know I have a One

and so do you

for now;

but I think

helplessly hoping

maybe

we could ignore that fact

for one Starry Night

-

overlooked by some

admired by others

the Gift flows within you

finally, an Other

your fingers shine with potential

through the ink

and charcoal on your hands

spilling onto paper, canvas

for the world to see

-

if you knew

of the reason for my inhibition,

of this distant, silent adoration

love?

would you recoil?

-

perhaps

you would join me

but only in Utopia

my imagination

my Secret Garden of the soul
