Only a hot fire can burn-

Cold fires are nonexistent.

How can there be a flame

If there is nothing to feed it,

If there is no one there to stoke it;

Keep it alive

It only lingers, then dies.

My heart becomes a dying flame,

Getting colder and colder with

Every passing moment.

All you do is watch,

Even kick some sand in once in a while.

It hurts, and you don’t see that.

All that is seen is darkness now-

Cold.
