Poetry is not for love
Poetry is not for joy
Poetry is not for life
Or aught happiness can employ.
The written word is musical
The written word is harsh and cruel
The written word is soft and sweet
The brain-child of a hapless fool.
Poetry is wrought of hate
Poetry is woven pain
Poetry is sorrowful
From a mind yet so arcane.
My written word is full of angst
My written word is black and blue
My written word is gone of hope
Like a death-sentence long o’erdue.
