Written June 21, 2003. One of my all-time favorites.

-------------------------

The night it is bleeding
There’s nothing to feel
The skeptics conceding
The lies are all real

The blood it is staining
The stars all shine red
The sweet moon is waning
Inside of my head

The night it is dying
Time is turned to stone
The stars are all crying
Lament all alone

The stars they are glowing
Ethereal light
And wise men not knowing
The pain of this night

The night it is screaming
This truth has been penned
By shooting stars streaming
To announce the end

The moon it is sighing
Awaiting its death
The trusted are lying
It draws its last breath

The night it is ending
The stars so not shine
Now doom is impending
And all will be fine
