Unworthy

Forget this foul, unworthy cause

That brings us here together.

Our lives are tied, our fates are sealed,

And we have broken our own laws.

Cruel and unforgiving,

Our paths have brought us here.

The world awaits its chance

To retrieve the goodness we've peeled

From the surface of it all.

We stole the hope out of fear,

And we lost our balance.

As the hands of Death close around us,

We pray for more time.

We lie and repent, with many 'a tear,

That we'll be being anew.

But our lies were wasted and corrupt,

And now our time is through.

We wanted what we didn't want,

We caused ourselves so much pain.

Now, we know, and now we realize

That all of this was just in vain.
