A Fairytale about Truth

Once upon a time there was a girl
Whose name was not important
With eyes as blue as forget-me-nots
And a quiet soul that always cried

One day she found a magic land
An enchanted realm, and beckoning
She slipped inside and found herself
Face to face with a handsome prince
With eyes as blue as forget-me-nots
And a quiet soul that whispered sins

If only she could speak the language
That all the kingdom knew as well
She knew that she would be his queen

And silently, he courted her
With not a word and those shining eyes
But her clothes were white
And his were black
He was afraid to touch her

Such an angel, that she ran away
And wouldn't come back

He would only search for a little while
Knowing that if all hope failed
He could return to his concubines
So, the prince with the dazzling eyes
And the silent soul heavy with pain
Returned to all that was easy, and empty

Once upon a time there was a girl
Who was a princess in disguise
Whose ruby smile was cracked and sad
With a soul so hard it could not cry

She learned one lovely summer day
That being in love with a prince
Is not enough to live on

And she died in a windswept field
Of lovely blue forget-me-nots-
