Trying not to slip up

To the late night conversations

Hugs, kisses, and holding hands

Always being together

Arm-in-arm

Fingers interlocked

Heads on shoulders

Never second guessing

Knowing what was right

And not caring if it wasn't

To spontaneous gifts

Trying to make each other smile

Never worrying

Always laughing

Not thinking

That fights would ensue

Screaming, shouting, crying

Broken hearts

Broken minds

Not stepping on each other's toes
