Deep in the shadows

In the dead of the night

Whilst all are sound a sleeping

Creatures cower out of sight

Stalking out there victims

Waiting patiently to strike

Watching every movement

Knowing when the time is right

Hiding in dark corners

And underneath our beds

There demons from our childhood

And nightmares in our head

Waking in a cold sweat

Screaming, quivering, crying

Cause the memories that we carry

Scar our heart and leave it dying

The thoughts that we think of

Whilst adjusting our eyes to the light

Leave us all shivering

In the cold dark haze of night

Shadows swirl and mingle

And look like shapes of horror

But really it's just our mind

That's clouded full of sorrow

Our mind is that very nightmare

With the demons still inside

There with us when were sleeping

Sneaking upon us from behind

Even through the daylight

We cant escape, run or hide

As there our thoughts and feelings

Stuck firmly in our mind!!!
