You ripped out my heart, and sliced it in two

Gave it back to me – a fistful of broken glass

It cut me. I bled my life onto the floor

Drowned in my bloody tears

I walked this dusty road

All alone – desolate and dead

Miles after miles I trudged, looking for you

I walked forever, searching for a memory.

Dead.

We’re dead.

Ruined, wrecked, derelict

Why can’t I let this go?

Why can’t I bid you good-bye?

Want to sleep forever

Close my eyes and never wake up

Darkness is so much better than reality

But, I have to face it.

Heart screaming and bleeding, but smile is in place

We’re dead.

And I don’t care.
