An ebbing mist of black and white,
Begins to swirl and sway
Around a place that's so bleak,
No shadows make their stay.
Suddenly from deep within,
This hollow swirling space,
An explosion echoes through the dark,
And blasts me in my face.
When I regain composure,
I see now that light surrounds,
What once was like a silent grave,
Is a mass of colors and sound.
I look to see with pleasure,
There's a ring that’s everywhere,
And then I see it expanding,
Adding matter here and there.
I walk to the slowly expanding ring,
And watch the darkness burn,
It melts into creations,
From which even I can learn.
I look upon the swirling dust,
That wasn’t there before,
It’s formed so many masses,
By such swiftness I adore.
Now I watch the forming universe,
As the dark trades for the light.
Sometimes I watch the darkness burn,
As it slowly ebbs the night.
