I’m sick of hearing “it’ll be alright”
Don’t say she’s in a better place
Life just doesn’t seem worth the fight
Torrents of tears have slid down my face

Stop telling me she’s not in pain
It doesn’t ease the pain I feel
I’ve so much to lose, nothing to gain
Take me away, tell me it’s not real.

For the third time in a year,
I’m going through the same sorrow
Death is the thing that I most fear,
When, for someone I love there’s no tomorrow.

Janet "Jenny" Paterson, much loved mother and grandmother, August 11th 1918 - November 29th 2004
