Vagabond

By Emilee Petersmark

I left home laste last evening

Without a destination,

Going on foot as far as I could

Away from civilization.

The road was rough beneith my feet,

My mind was heavy, too--

Wandering far and wandering wide

And not thinking of you.

I went for a walk last evening

To try to see the stars

But the only light that shone that night

Was from headlights of passing cars.
