The Last Laugh

Critics and insulters
Haters and despisers
Throw their worst into my face
And hoping it would hurt.
Stabbing me when I'm not looking
Gossiping while my back is turned
Secrets and lies are spreading
Awaiting the result the audience so yearned.

They wait for me to stumble
And make a big mistake
Those blood-thirsty crowds are watching
Make me entertain for their own sake
So noble and superior they think of themselves
Basking in their ruthless glory
Their heads held too high and their strides strode too proud
Is the pitifulness of my story.

Critics and insulters
Haters and despisers
Is that the worst thing you can give me,
The same old puns and jokes?
Smiling when they try to hurt me,
Try as they might to push me down.
Their 'secrets and lies' are hilarious,
Those joke-telling jesters and clowns

I shake my head in pity
When they make their own mistakes
I kneel down and move to help them,
Yet they only shove me away.
I have no more patience to waste on them
Tried to help them, now I've resigned.
For in the end of my story,
It happens the last laugh is mine.
