You see a chalkboard in every classroom

All covered with assignments in white chalk

The looming symbol of scholastic doom

Intimidated students dare not talk

The vengeful tapping of the chalk enraged

Does grate on the delinquent scholars there

The poor, pathetic, wretched students caged

They sit and face the chalkboard’s angry stare

Each screeching stroke of chalk upon the board

Strikes terror into every student’s heart

And each fervently thanks their god and lord

When finally the students quickly part

They’ll never be able to quite erase

The malevolence of the chalkboard’s face
