How Things Are Meant To Be
Cold as ice, that’s what you are
Look at you, you’re just so far
But even though you hurt me so
I can’t accept that you are a foe.
As I sink in your cold stare
Thoughts for you’ll never get there
More of a chance, these will scatter
Wait a minute, it’s just not fair!
I may have liked you too much
They say it isn’t like such
It hurts so, more than you know
So please heed me and don’t go.
Even if I seem to lose heart
And everything’s fallen apart
I brace myself with a smile
The storms of life’s for a while
Continue though, go taunt me
Leave me confused as can be
No matter what happens, I’m happy
It’s just how things are meant to be.
So, here I am again. This one is my first poem in English. I wrote it in my sophomore year (I’m a junior now) in High School and it’s about this guy I’ve got a crush on since I was s freshman. Anyway, my secret leaked out somehow, due to the fact that I was so careless, and he started giving me the cold shoulder. It lasted for almost a year. I got over him anyway, thank goodness, seeing as the guy was really an anti-social. If somebody mentions the word ‘introvert’ he is the 1st thing that crosses my mind.
There is no doubt denying that I like “It’s You…” way better than this and that this one’s got many problems. And about the word ‘scatter’ in there, what I really wrote was ‘shatter’ but this got printed in The Divinian (The Literary Page) and I didn’t want to edit it, seeing as it was published already and that the whole school’s read its contents.
Anyway, thanks for reading this… nn
Keep on writing and reach for the stars!
