Sharecropping Songs

16 April 2009
Kew, England

'Them that's got shall get, them that's not shall lose ;
So the bible says, and it still is true'

Is an old Billie Holiday sonnet,—
Heartfelt from a life full of pain & woes.

'Once I built a railroad,— made it run, made
It run against time. Brother can you spare
A dime.'
Also comes from much suffering,—
Soul, in slavery, must sing its sad blues.
