If I empty myself of emotion

Would I be human?

I would be free from tears

Free from despair and tiredness

But I would not feel

I couldn’t smile

Or have the ability to make someone else do the same

But I wouldn’t fear.

Would it be a blessing?

Or a curse?

Sometimes I wish I could drain everything away

Then start again with a blank canvas
