Smashing waves

Against bank or stone

As the human nature of man

Tends to want the power you own

Persistency and courage

Your flawless blue countenance

The sun’s light

Is demonstrated in a clear reflection

You play the part of the mirror

Without a crack;

Without a scratch

War and blood echoed

As you were the pacifist

Without batting an eye

Your blue is beauty

It mixes with the green of trees

As the moon mixes with night

As peaceful as possible

As you provide shelter

For innocent, pure organisms

Your heart is a chest

That cannot be duplicated

A heart that ceases to refrain from beating

Even through days of death

You fight to prevent rest

Seventy years forward

As people will visit

There you will be

Swarming the banks of ol’town

As you have for an eternity.
