Walk & Talk

15 January 2009
Flour Bluff, Texas

We’ve got more brain cells than we need to think.
We’ve got more nerve ends than we need to feel.
& Yet there’s dearth for us to see God’s face.
& Yet there’s death beyond which we can’t touch.

Perhaps we’ve got enough for compassion.
Perhaps there’s still some left for love’s passion.
But I know that unless our mind & hands
Find unity with heart,—All’s emptiness.
