Yeah, this is the result of extreme boredom in a non-creative writing English class. The line “Can you tell me where to find a phoenix?” just popped into my head. When I fiddled with it this is what I got. I don’t feel like explaining what this means, feel free to read it however you like. Oh and just a quick note. Lines 4, 7, 9, 11, 16, 22, and 24 are supposed to be indented. Stupid fiction press. These indented lines are a sort of background echo, I think my mind was in song mode or something when I wrote them. Also “can you tell me where to find a phoenix” starts a new stanza. Not really important, just more stupid fictionpress formatting. This is another attempt at poetry for me so eh. Please review.

Can you tell me where to find a phoenix?

Burning ashy bright?

Even builds its own nest.

No assembly required.

Funeral pyre.

Does the phoenix know this as it builds?

Rise again, rise again.

Does it recognize its fate?

Burning star bright.

Does it fear its coming destruction?

Smokey shadows float in dreams?

Does it know it will arise from its burning bed?

Can you tell me where to find a phoenix?

They seem all too rare today.

I fear they no longer rise.

Search and Destroy.

Too confident in their abilities,

Too many burned too soon.

Can you tell me where to find a phoenix?

I know a home where it is needed.

No nest has been built.

Too impatient.

And I’m afraid it is already on fire.

Search and Destroy.

I do not know if it will rise.

I can only hope.

Please.

I need a phoenix.
