Identity

Far beyond the mist I see
Muddled purpose, confused identity
Little known is love’s intent
Leaving too much room for man’s dissent
Rays of light illuminate dreams
While tearing apart life at the seams
All the while gods start to pray
As mortals work at night and sleep by day
Rationale lost its way

Opaque hope leaves deep scars
Answers no longer held by stars
Observing life’s unborn potential
Builds anticipation, too consequential
The continual nature of man’s never-ending story
Is not a result of an endowment seemingly obligatory
The laughter and cries of a small boy
Bring about sorrow—but still joy?
The world is now a broken toy

A fleeting moment may bring unique observation
And as a result, a renewal of mankind’s conservation
Gratuitous feelings show disrespect for the masses
Unkempt psychology is awry as time passes
A new era can bring about the implementation
Of a mirror image, social castration
Species development brings adaptability
Lessening the impact of widespread hostility
Existence exemplifies durability
