Mary

Mary had a little frog
She kept it in her pocket
One day she went to the bog
And a witch turned it into a locket

Now Mary wanted her frog back
And asked the witch quite nice
“Gimmie back my frog you old hag
Or I’ll turn your toads into mice!”

The witch wasn’t having any of that
‘Cause she was mean and nasty
“I’m not goin’ to give you your frog back,
Instead you can have a pasty.”

So Mary took the pasty
And thanked the witch, twice,
And gave it to her brother
Who said, “It tasted nice.”

Then her mother got proper blazing
In fact she went completely mad
“What’ja do that for you silly girl?
That’s the twelfth pasty he’s had!”

But Mary didn’t give a damn,
In fact she didn’t care
But as she was about to say this
Her mother wasn’t there

Her mother had gone to the bog you see
And had taken a frog as well
But she wasn’t after a pasty
If the witch had a locket to sell!
